About the Council
Mandate and composition
Aiming to increase its capacity to represent the genuine interest of citizens and enable greater citizen’s participation in initiative safeguarding these interests, Centre for Affirmative Social Actions – CASA developed internal consultative mechanisms that will facilitate the engagement of authentic representatives of Kosovo Serb community, emerging young leaders in initiatives contributing to the organization mission fulfilment.
CASA Community Council is consisted of a group of 12, geographically dispersed, professionally diverse and gender balanced young individuals, divided in three (3) thematic subgroups as per organization objectives, namely 1) Legal/policy council, 2) Economic and social development council and 3) Council for protection of cultural and ethnic identity
Legal & Policy Council
Role in CASA Council: Advice and assist in programs targeting gender equality and gender legal protection.
Student of Political Science
Role in CASA Council: Assisting and supporting the team in policy development initiatives and research.
M.A legal studies
Role in CASA Council: Legal analysis and policy research in the areas of community rights.
Local socio-political activist
Role in CASA Council: Assisting and supporting the team in the development of local policies and affirmation of rights.
Economic & Social Development Council
Co-Founder of W3Lab and Z1 Tech
Role in CASA Council: Advising and assisting in programs aimed at strengthening local capacities in the IT sector and increasing the number of opportunities for youth employment.
M.A. in Economics
Role in CASA Council: Advising and supporting startup initiatives and helping to increase employment opportunities for young people in the private sector.

Role in CASA Council: Advising and assisting in the promotion of initiatives related to youth employment in rural areas.

Role in CASA Council: Advising and assisting in initiatives aimed at preserving linguistic history, linguistic richness, and promoting linguistic diversity.
Curator in Visoki Dečani Monastery
Role in CASA Council: Advising and assisting in initiatives aimed at promoting the historical, religious and cultural heritage and preserving the identity of Kosovo Serbs.
Role in CASA Council: Assisting and supporting the team in preserving culture, tradition and history, as well as contact with non-majority communities.
Ines Aljović Mihajlović
Role in CASA Council: Assisting and supporting the team in the implementation of programs aimed at promoting cultural diversity.
The mandate of CASA Council is to guide the organization (CASA) programming toward the genuine needs of Kosovo non-majority communities and assist organization in mobilization of community in the efforts towards their attainment. Thus, the mandate of CASA Community Council is to:
- Facilitate direct participation of community in identification and prioritization of the needs that will be incorporate in CASA programming
- offer input/council to CASA program office in development of initiatives and actions addressing the citizen’s needs, priorities, and views,
- shape/review/amend the remedies developed by the organization (programs, projects, policy submissions etc
- engage in advocacy actions of organization and its civic partners (networks) individually or through mobilization of community
The motto of CASA Community Council is “We are the agents of our interests” implying the active role and citizens ownership in definition and prioritization of their own needs.
