About the Council
Mandate and composition
Aiming to increase its capacity to represent the genuine interest of citizens and enable greater citizen’s participation in initiative safeguarding these interests, Centre for Affirmative Social Actions – CASA developed internal consultative mechanisms that will facilitate the engagement of authentic representatives of Kosovo Serb community, emerging young leaders in initiatives contributing to the organization mission fulfilment.
CASA Community Council is consisted of a group of 12, geographically dispersed, professionally diverse and gender balanced young individuals, divided in three (3) thematic subgroups as per organization objectives, namely 1) Legal/policy council, 2) Economic and social development council and 3) Council for protection of cultural and ethnic identity

Mandate
The mandate of CASA Council is to guide the organization (CASA) programming toward the genuine needs of Kosovo non-majority communities and assist organization in mobilization of community in the efforts towards their attainment. Thus, the mandate of CASA Community Council is to:
- Facilitate direct participation of community in identification and prioritization of the needs that will be incorporate in CASA programming
- offer input/council to CASA program office in development of initiatives and actions addressing the citizen’s needs, priorities, and views,
- shape/review/amend the remedies developed by the organization (programs, projects, policy submissions etc
- engage in advocacy actions of organization and its civic partners (networks) individually or through mobilization of community
The motto of CASA Community Council is “We are the agents of our interests” implying the active role and citizens ownership in definition and prioritization of their own needs.
