Project title: Urban Soundscape – Multicultural Rhythm of Kosovo
Duration: 7 months
Implementation period: December 10, 2023 – June 30, 2024
Implementation partner: NGO SPACES
Supported by: Ministry of Culture of Kosovo
Status: Completed
Project objectives:
The project “Urban Soundscape – Multicultural Rhythm of Kosovo” aims to organize two concerts featuring renowned artists from the Serbian and Roma communities in Kosovo, providing young people with the opportunity to experience the richness of Kosovo’s musical diversity.
The main project’s objective is to connect people from different ethnic communities in Kosovo, strengthening interethnic cooperation, understanding, trust, and cultural diversity. Given that cultural collaboration has not been sufficiently utilized, as a means of building trust among communities in Kosovo, the project’s aim is to address this gap by promoting interethnic understanding through the promotion of interethnic cooperation in the fields of culture and art. For the artists themselves, the project has opened up opportunities for self-promotion, mutual collaboration among artists from different ethnic communities, and the chance to showcase their talents to a wider audience.
The project is being implemented by the NGO CASA from North Mitrovica and the NGO Spaces for Societal Changes – SPACES from Pristina.
Expected results:
One of the expected outcomes of the project is to create sustainable connections through cultural exchange and collaboration between artists and audiences from different ethnic groups, which will continue even after the project’s conclusion. This will contribute to further connecting communities in Kosovo.
Additionally, a visible impact on the cultural and social life of Kosovo is anticipated, promoting cultural diversity, understanding, tolerance, and cooperation among citizens of different ethnic groups.
