General information
Project title: Aequitas Podcast
Duration: 9 months
Implementation period: August 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025
Implementation partner: Radio KIM Media Group
Supported by: Press Council of Kosovo
Status: In progress
Project objectives:
The Aequitas podcast project, for the third season in a row, continues its mission that aims to address the lack of open and multiple opportunities for public dialogue on issues that burden ethnic relations in Kosovo. Already established as a platform, that provides deep insights and analysis, the Aequitas podcast will provide a multi-angle discussion with an innovative strategy involving two presenters, journalists from the Kosovo Albanian and Serbian communities. They will aim to talk with relevant guests to reflect the prevailing attitudes and interests in their communities. In this way, the audience will have the opportunity to understand and confirm many opinions and interests on topics that burden ethnic relations in Kosovo, such as the issue of missing persons, normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo, EU integration, cultural heritage, and many others.
The main objective of the project is to promote a constructive and transparent public dialogue that will explore different perspectives and interests that influence the ethnic dynamics of today’s Kosovo. This will be achieved through two specific objectives:
- Development of a bilingual innovative media product that offers balanced, multifaceted debates on issues that burden ethnic relations in Kosovo, and
- Increasing the understanding of the wider audience in Kosovo and the region (Serbia) about the diversity of views/interests/factors represented in the socio-political dynamics of the dispute between Kosovo and Serbia.
Expected results:
By applying premium production standards, such as a dynamic debate format, appropriate technical standards, and a prominent visibility package, the product will be distributed throughout the region, including Serbia. Strategic dissemination of content will contribute to the goals of inclusivity, diversity, and constructive public dialogue.
