Gračanica, September 18th. The third meeting of the newly established informal platform for Kosovo Serb civil society organizations (CSOs) facilitated an insightful discussion among its members on the current challenges, needs, and opportunities facing the Serbian community in Kosovo. A growing number of issues requiring structural and institutional attention were identified, and participants engaged in a thorough examination of how the platform can contribute to resolving these challenges, including advocacy efforts directed toward international actors with an active role in Kosovo’s socio-political dynamics.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ronald Goldberg, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, accompanied by his colleagues. Mr. Goldberg had the opportunity to receive firsthand insights into the perceptions and concerns of platform members regarding the challenges faced by the Serb community in Kosovo.
The platform was established as part of the project “Moving from Integration towards a New Social Contract for a Truly Multiethnic Kosovo,” supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Pristina and implemented by NGO CASA and Spaces for Societal Change. Its objective is to strengthen and amplify underrepresented voices within the Serb community, both north and south of the Ibar River, with a particular focus on ensuring equal participation of women and addressing the diverse interests of the Kosovo Serb community.
